.So many of my Airbnb guests and friends ask me “what is my secret coffee recipe?” In those early morning hours, they awake, walk into the kitchen and take a deep inhale to smell the aroma of that freshly brewed cup of coffee.
I had them a special mug for whatever season we are in (Christmas, Easter, Fall) and pour. Their hands wrap themselves around the mug and feel the warmth. They raise the mug to smell and t
They really enjoy the rich flavor that has a bit of a sweet, yet grounded, spicy kick. This is derived from the hint of my special ingredient that gives them that comforting smell of all things home!
I actually stumbled upon this coffee while shopping at a local food market and bakery called Farmers and Artisans and you can find them here: https://www.farmersandartisans.com/
This is my go-to place in Buffalo, NY for all my locally sourced produce, meats, breads, cheeses, eggs, etc.
You must check them out! Ask for Julie and Kim – they are awesome!
I had a cup of this coffee at Farmers and Artisans and was hooked! I bought a small bag of ground coffee and took it home and then a few days later, I was like, wait..”what if” I could take this a step further and “my secret coffee recipe?” And so I did! And I have never looked back! In fact, I don’t buy coffee out any where like Starbucks of Tim Hortons’ because it just doesn’t taste as good to me.
Okay, so here are the two key ingredients:
New Day Coffee, Mexican Chiapas Flavor: https://www.newdaycoffeeroasters.com/
(special ingredient here) Vietnamese Cinammon from King Arthur Flour : https://shop.kingarthurbaking.com/items/vietnamese-cinnamon
I pair this with so many different types of meals that I make, primarily for breakfast but I also like to serve it with some of my famous cookies and desserts that I serve my family, friends and guests. For one of my favorite breakfast pairings – you can go to this blog post on Breakfast Brioche French toast: https://kimberleybarker.net/2021/12/breakfast-brioche-french-toast/
This has become so popular with my Airbnb guests, that one of them even took a “to-go” cup home and saved it for the next day! That made me laugh and smile!
What is your favorite coffee recipe? Please feel free to share as I am always looking for new ways to serve my guests, family and friends!
